Jasper
Let's talk about Jasper and some of its healing properties and uses. Jasper is an opaque variety of Quartz and comes in a HUGE variety of colors, from simple colors like red and yellow to patterned Jaspers like Picasso and Pictured, to fancy Jaspers such as Kambaba, Moukaite, and Ocean Jasper that can only be found in small select regions. Jaspers are sometimes mixed with other minerals such as Unakite, which is Red Jasper mixed with Epidote. Jasper was a favorite in the ancient world, with many civilizations using it for jewelry, seals, and carvings.
Its metaphysical properties include: being a strong grounding crystal, it centers the mind and body, it helps to achieve a deep meditative state, it's a supportive crystal for difficult times, it promotes quick thinking and organization.
Now that we have an understanding of Jasper as a whole, let's dive into a few specific types of jaspers and their meanings, starting with Kambaba Jasper. Kambaba jasper is also known as Crocodile jasper in reference to its resemblance to crocodile skin. This stone may be used to increase money flow and prosperity into your life. Next, Red Jasper, to ancient civilizations red jasper was associated with blood and to the Egyptians specifically, with the blood of the goddess Isis. In ancient Greece the third century poet, Possidippus called the stone "misty jasper, the ethereal stone," retelling the ancient Mesopotamian creation myth that one of the spheres of the heavens was formed from jasper.
